Hey guys!

So in order to channel my creative geekiness while I am unable to create cosplays for lack of time and money, I have been creating hand-painted sets of false nails and selling them on Etsy!

My designs range from cute prints like the Ditsy Daisies and Cherry Bomb sets, to nails inspired by Disney movies like Lilo and Stitch, to comic book characters like the Punisher and Deadpool.

I'm 21 today aaaaaahhhh!!!

Thank you to everyone whose already wished me a Happy Birthday From now on I believe birthdays become less exciting and more things of dread, so I intend to make this a good one! Had a lovely weekend seeing friends and family, and tonight I'll be hitting the town with my uni friends for what I fully hope will be a night of madness

Its so weird to think how many of you guys will have been watching me grow up through the years. I joined DA and started cosplay when I was 14, met most of what is now ParlePro at 15, and now here I am at 21 with a bazillion memories to look back on Crazy right?

Thank you guys for making all these years so awesome and here's to many more! (In which I will hopefully cosplay more and have a little more to show for it on here...)

I was having a look through the photos from Reiss' and my engagement photoshoot (the grammar there seems weird I dont know how to say that right :S) and theres a few cute ones in there I was thinking of uploading, even though theyre about a year old now! But what are your thoughts? My gallery is 99% cosplay photos, and cosplay is the main purpose of this account, but would you be interested in seeing more non-cosplay stuff from me?

I've been super busy since my last journal, so major apologies for not keeping you guys updated!

Florida was amazing. Absolutely incredible holiday and I loved every second of it. I came home with the shittiest tan; partly because of a billion epic thunderstorms and partly because I was so busy doing things that I barely got a chance to chill out and sunbathe! We did Disney (Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Magic Kingdom), Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, Wonderworks, went to BB Kings blues bar, saw Despicable Me 2 when all the over-21s went to Senor Frogs (Americans know how to do films properly I want to go back), and then topped it all off with Metrocon which was crazy awesome! It was my first time at a US con, and what an amazing experience it was! I got to meet loads of fans (I have fans?? wut 0_o), hang out with some cool new friends, mess around in panels, and generally just enjoy the convention. It was amazing. I'd love to go back at some point, but we'll see what the future holds...

On the way home from Metrocon, Kelly mentioned how she was going to have to go to Abunaicon in the Netherlands alone as neither Jenn nor Charlotte could get the time off work, and it was too short-notice to ask anyone else. However, I'm a bored, unemployed student on Summer holidays, so I offered to join her if she'd like to have me along. And so on the 19th of August I found myself on a plane to the Netherlands for yet another fantastic convention! Dutchies: you guys are wicked. The con itself was so much fun; I got to present the Cosplay Contest and Eurocosplay, and the Cosplay Act competition with Kelly which I was soooo nervous about but actually really enjoyed, and I helped Kelly out with her panels as much as I was able to (I'm not very good at it; I dont think I qualify to give people advice on anything!) and then mostly just got to hang out with a load of awesome Dutch people and enjoy myself I also debuted a new cosplay at Abunai: Companion Cube from Portal, based off of this design: destinyblue.deviantart.com/#/a… by DestinyBlue, which I really enjoyed wearing, despite the unflatteringness of shiny silver spandex! xD

After returning to England, I spent the next few days with my parents which was really lovely as I dont get to see them that often now that I live more than 3 hours north of them And mum took me fabric shopping so I could finally make a start on my Mad Moxxi cosplay for Alcon!! I returned to my northern home, and then spent the next six days frantically assembling my own costume, as well as a Scooter cosplay for Reiss. And then it was on to Alcon!

They say good things come in threes, and Alcon certainly topped off the convention hattrick! As an actual convention, Alcon's certainly not the best, but the social aspect is always fantastic. Five days of hanging out with friends, some of which I dont see nearly as often as I'd like, with some cosplay funtimes thrown in there for good measure; its just damn awesome. I wore Moxxi on the Friday, and despite being so, soooo nervous to wear her after convincing myself that I am in no way slim or toned enough to look good in that little costume, I actually loved it. I could not believe how confident I felt wearing her and it gave me such a boost for the rest of the convention. Even when everyone else changed out of their costumes after the photoshoot, I stayed in the costume for as long as I could, and I could have quite happily worn her for the whole convention! I love it, one of my favourite costumes to date (though my parents were slightly less enthusiastic when they saw the photos...oops! >.<). On Saturday I was Maria Hill, who I always love cosplaying purely because of Avengerderps; though it was really weird missing so many of our Avengers cast :S. Towelcon happened, so that was fun xD. And then on Sunday I got to wear Lizzy from Kuroshitsuji again! I adore wearing that costume; its one of my proudest achievements just with how much work I put into it and the finished product is one that I do feel like I can be proud of! It's not perfect, and unfortunately I couldnt find my accessories so I was without my hat and choker and gloves, but we got some really fun photos that I should be able to show you soon! Leaving Alcon is always emotional; as I said before some of the friends I see at Alcon I barely see for the rest of the year, which sucks. But I think I should be able to see most of them soonish, so that made saying goodbye a little less sad <3

Tomorrow I'm off to Empire LARPing (missing the first day because Reiss cant have any more time off work this year >.<), and then next weekend I'm going to try my hardest to convince Reiss that we can go to J-con. My friends are all moving back here for uni on Saturday, and I think thats when GTA V comes out, so if we can't go I'll at least have things to do instead, but I reeeeally would like to go. So we'll see what happens I guess

Anyway, sorry for leaving it so long for an update! Hope this suffices! Keep an eye out for some new cosplay photos popping up in my gallery, and I'll see all you guys around!

I'm going to Florida on Monday. Just... aaahhhh omg. I'm about half-packed, which is leaving it quite late for me considering I'm heading down to Kent on Saturday morning so have to be essentially ready to go by then.

I'll be going with Reiss, KellyJane, SirFlamboyantWreck, stripeydani, mistergleeson, PonderMoofin, T-ucker, sora1992, and FarukuCostumes and ohhhh my god I just cant wait.

Hopefully I'll see a few of you at Metrocon on the 26th-28th. I'll be joining in with a few of the panels (I'll be at the Ask the Cast, Improv 101 and Avengers Q&A ones as far as I'm aware) and would really like to meet as many people as I can! As I'm not part of the Left for Dead or Marauders shows/groups I'm not 100% sure what I'm cosplaying on Friday and Sunday, but I think I'll be in Rapunzel (with Reiss as Flynn) on Sunday and possibly in Hogwarts attire anyway on the Friday. But dont take my word for it cause I might end up just wandering round in civvies

I'll take this opportunity to again apologise for not really using DA much at all. Hopefully you'll be seeing a few new costumes from me for Alcon in September and I'll have plenty of pictures to upload for a little while. I have a few plans but not actually working on anything at the moment. Cant really afford fabrics right now with Florida draining all my money into a pit of joy and wonder, but fingers crossed I can get started when we get back!
